  4. i’ve actually considered making a similar company here on the east coast. hmmm

  5. Hy 🙂 sold someone here hemp paper?

  6. This is an awesome idea. One of the original reasons cannabis was surpressed is due to this product. The perfect way for hemp to come back strong is to replace paper! We may be moving to a digital age but America uses more paper by volume than ever before. This at the moment when our world needs sustainable solutions now more than ever. Legalization will relegitimize hemp.

  7. If some one needs to be updated with newest technologies after that he must be pay a quick visit

  10. Why users still use to read news papers when in this technological world the whole
    thing is accessible on web?

  11. Can you tell us more about this? I’d want to find out some additional
    information.

  17. Reference: Industrial Hemp Textile Fibers.
I introduce myself, my name is Ronald Coquis, represent the company Reed and Retama SL I am an entrepreneur horticulture in the province of Almeria, currently engaged us correct implementation of the Hemp Industry industry for raw fibers, textile fibers, cellulose for paper mills and seeds for food consumption.
The reason why I contact you is to tell you that right now, we have developed METHODS retting of hemp fibers, which have allowed us to give more softness and thus able to obtain fibers that are supported by the Cotton Carding machines or Lino, etc.. Wicks obtained allow us to stretch to get the Industrial Hemp textile yarn, and right now we spun gauges N16 to N30.
For you to reach a correct thread, I would ask them to summit tab wire techniques that demand is the only way to show our ability to develop Industrial Hemp in Spain, as our climate allows us to obtain the best Textile fibers.
When we sow we have to take into account the weather, the Land and Water, are important points to consider in the development of the Hemp Industry, is for that reason that the South of Spain and Portugal, have 2:00 to 2:30 crops a year, TROPICAL climate, that is why we are also expanding our industry in Peru, Paraguay, Dominican Republic and Ecuador.
Machines have created by our experience, allowing us to properly aperturar pulping and hemp plants for further processing to textile yarn.
When you wish they will contact the Technical Company, which will provide all the technical details you need to know of our threads.
Waiting for your news, I leave

    • Ronald,

I do not speak Spanish only English so I hope there is way we can speak. I’m interested in “mechanical retting” machines and what you may know about many other hemp-specific planting and harvesting equipment. I just sent you an invitation to join me on Skype. I’m also looking for a source for seeds in the US, do you have such a contact?

    • Hi Ronald,

Me and a friend are currently thinking about a unique way to market hemp paper and we are hoping to set up a distribution office in Barcelona. I have been looking all over the internet for suppliers of hemp paper in Spain. Im pleased we found you. How is it all going? What kind of quantities can you supply? Ive got so many questions. And are you free to talk tomorrow evening?

      Michael

    Hello,
Ok here’s the skinny on how to make paper from Hemp. You’ll need 2 books… 1) The empereror wears no clothes and 2) Hemp Horizons. Essentially if you’re growing hemp for paper you’ll grow a medium density population on the fields. Probably about 150 lbs of seed per acre but I suggest you look up the Industrial Hemp Guidelines in Canada at http://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/regulations/SOR-98-156/index.html.
Once you grow the hemp until September then you have to cut it down and collect it in stacks, kind of like wheat. It has to ret for a month to allow the Hurd to separate from the stalk. “Retting” allows the cellulose to separate from the fibrous exteriour. You need dewy mornings to allow the retting to take place. Then you need a hemp breaker to crack the stalk and release the hurds. As for any special paper mill equipment, any typical paper mill uses vats of acid to decompose the usual tree cellulose. Since hemp hurds are much smaller anyway and no mechanical crunching of huge tree trunks is necessary.
Hemp hurds will readily digest in acidic vats and the rest of the paper making process would be ultimately the same. Maybe you could visit a paper mill that produces the type and quality of paper you seek to produce. The process of making paper from hemp is essentially the same as from trees the devil is in the details of what type of paper you are seeking to produce. A visit to a similar end product paper mill will iron out the finishing/rolling equipment specificities.
    Cheers, and godspeed.

Are there any company interested in producying hemp paper, set up a factory
in south america, with the goverments help and aproval?.
    best bussiness ever.

    • Regarding setting up a factory or mill for hemp paper, from the research I have done there is small conversion needed to change a pulp paper mill to a hemp mill.
Now in saying this I live in the east coast of Canada and work in forestry. The amount of mills that have been shut down leave many places around here to buy and convert to a hemp paper facility.
The infrastructure here, but unfortunately so is the ignorance…

      • Dear Brady,

I am the founding director of a newly registered NPO in South Africa (Abundance) and an entrepreneur. I know absolutely nothing about producing paper but have a good understanding of recruiting the right people and motivating them to achieve an agreed upon goal. The goal of my NPO is to provide women and children with workshops on various sustainable development projects with a main focus on the interdisciplinary science of permaculture. This will ultimately empower them with food security, electricity and income. The only problem with this model is that the income comes last. So I have had the idea of trying to find an old mill close to one of my target communities and convert it into a hemp paper producing mill. The profits from this mill will then in tern fuel sustainable economic growth on a wider scale through the broader community, thus becoming completely self sustained unit. Government grants take years to manifest into real money after they have been granted and international donors are wary of the South African fat cats that feed their own pockets before the hungry. I would like to change the approach to empowering the poor by starting a company that has the sole purpose of funding the communities around it. In fact, it seems to be one of the few options we have left.

There are two reasons I am reaching out to you; the first being that I would be very grateful if you could provide me with information you gathered in your research about converting mills into hemp mills… and secondly (in the longer term) my wife and I would love to live in Canada for a few years. We both have family and friends there and starting up a similar project would be a great way to spend our time there. Any help or advice or a point in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

        Kind Regards,

        Bun

        • Bun,

Your posting caught my attention and I’m eager to follow up on some ideas.

        • Hi there, Im very much interested in your progress on this matter, as I am interested in getting producing hemp products, mainly paper products. If at all possible, could you forward me some information regarding hemp paper as well as the machinery required. I am in South Africa, and here is an overwheling need for sustainable ventures like hemp paper products. I would like to exchange information with you.
          Thank you

  21. I am looking at starting up a hemp growing project in South Africa, for the purpose of generating revenue for eco-social isues. I am purchasing 10 acres of land. While I have two partners who were colleagues of mine while I served in the Peace Corps in Africa… they are natives, amazing farmers, brilliant, determined, motivated etc etc… I don’t know much about hemp for example-
    1. How, where to purchase seed
    2. How much 10 acres could yield/produce
    3. What would be some pros and cons
any other advice, suggestions etc. Could be looking for potential collaboration, partnership etc as well.

I am based in Colorado, I have worked in the non profit sector for over 15 years and am experienced in NGO development. Hope to hear back from anyone with feedback, interest etc. THANKS!
    -Jeremy

    • Hi Jeremy. I am looking at starting exactly the same type of business with the same goals as you. I dont have any contacts in Africa and dont know much about how to grow, harvest and produce hemp at the moment but these are obstacles which shouldnt be too hard to overcome.
      I await your reply.

  22. I thought my email and website would be in the above post but i don’t see it, so check it out at http://www.truthnet.info and email me at 2speaktruth44@gmail. i’m looking at holding fundraisers for farmers, grow ops, etc….if you have a non profit, i would love to speak with you about raising some money for the cause of awareness and forward movement. Peace,
    Jeff

  23. Really thankful to have found you all. I am very much interested in seeing this crop being restored to it’s rightful owners,….us. God gave us all the seeds that grows all the plants, and He gave us all the water that makes the plants grow…how can any individual or govt have the say over who gets to plant one of God’s seeds that He gave to each of us? No need to look to man’s politics, when God’s Provision (the seed) has already given us permission TO GROW. Peace.

  24. No Prius for me, I am waiting for the revival of Ford’s hemp car. I am finishing my MBA with a certificate in Sustainable Resources. Hemp will hopefully be coming back to the states, we need alternatives. It is great to see all this interest. I’m for helping out with the sale of hemp paper.

  25. I am an enthusiastic supporter of industrial hemp production primarily due to the drastically lessened environmental impact of its production as a base crop with mulitple applications. As an an environmental scientist currently employed to safeguard Tribal water resources (groundwater, surface water, and watershed hydrology) I have to ask what the by products of hemp processing are. I believe wholeheartedly that globally we must move away from forest products, chemical applications for pest controls and fertilizers and harsh, contaminant-laden production methods. My concern is that in the blossoming of this Earth-friendlier crop production and processing, folks move with a clear understanding of the total environmental impact. Clearly hemp requires far less than other crops to grow, clearly hemp as a replacement for forest products is eminently reasonable, and clearly the applications of this amazing plant are far wider than any other single crop plant. Yet the transport from farming location to mill, processing at the mill, the processing into fibers, cloth, paints, oils etc.–all of these bear environemtnal impacts as well. So, what are the by-products generated by the production process of hemp to paper, to cloth, to oil? How much water does it take in each of the various processes? How much petroleum based fuel or coal-produced electricity will it require to produce hemp based materials? What are the total inputs–renewable and non-renewable–needed to produce one reem of white hemp paper? One barrel of hemp-oil? One bolt of un-bleached hemp cloth? Where can I find such information?
    Thank-you.

    • Hi Sam-I would suggest The Ringing Cedars of Russia by Vladimir Megre. The answer is not to be found in mono-farming of this most valuable plant, but in a concious awareness in Man. Good tidings-

  26. hey everyone. i love what i’m reading here 🙂 i’m completely new to this field but i have a very passionate interest in using hemp as a renewable energy source. i love all the possible things it can become and would like to join the team. It would be an awesome opportunity, and i know my skills can contribute. please do not hesitate to email me felix_214@yahoo.com

  27. Hi,
I’m dr. sutera and I’m a fan of hemp, I would like more information on your business and understand if we can exchange information for a project that we are creating here in Italy, Sicily, to clarify for growing and processing of hemp, both for biobuilding that for the production of paper and plastic, I hope we can have an employment relationship.
    waiting for a positive response,
    I send greetings.

  28. Starting a hemp paper business – Here is a place you are welcome to network – thousands of people there, and a lot of very keen people wanting or planning to start a hemp business of some kind:

  29. I am looking to start farming and have hemp as my main product. I am currently working on a buisness proposition in order to get funding as it is fairly easy to get funding for agricultural and as well ecologically friendly projects.
I am situated in Nova Scotia, Canada, and looking for people who are interested in building a mill, or buying an old mill to transfer to hemp bast to usable materials and core to pulp for paper and paper products.
If I have buyers lined up this project will take off!
I am very interested to hear from everyone to know their position.

    • Rosanna C. Blanmora

Hello Brady, I know you posted your request back in 2010 however I just discovered this website!
Did you get your hemp farm established ?

  30. Joey,
I live in Norcal as well, would love to farm hemp as well, but the production of growing hemp here is illegal in the US, due to the Feds fear….Maybe we can team up together to import major bulk in order to crunch numbers….I’m open and ready, lets talk!
    rkaicfunk@gmail.com

    • Brendan / Joey,

I’m here in NoCal too. I was just thinking about the very thing you guys are talking about (except for specifically making TP, but I like the idea) from a little different angle. Brendan, I think cannabis will be legalized for personal use the next time it’s on the ballot, when it does industrial hemp will be legalized too. I think laying the ground work for when that happens now is beneficial. To that end, what about developing relationship and partnerships with some central California municipalities that have been hard hit by this recession. Think about it, all are agriculture towns & have ag infrastructure and expertise in place. All have buildings and other transportation & processing facilities that are currently empty and not being used. They all have populations with extremely high unemployment rates that would provide experiences agriculture labor. I bet these municipalities would be willing to offer incentives for a “new” industry like this. I’m thinking of places like Modesto, Fresno, Turlock, Ceres, etc. Brendan, I’m sending this to your e-mail address below from mine. Joey, whats yours? Mine is dougboedecker@gmail.com

      • i wish you all the best sounds like a great idea but your federal government is corrupt lumber barons /lobbyists ,cotton growers, all fear the hemp because it is a far superior product, when you get control of wall street ,K street ,congress are PT not” lifers” change the whole politcical structure of the USA then you have a shot ,good luck

  31. I’m glad to see the interest. I have 25 acres in Northern CA and would love to plant hemp. To transport this to a CA or Pacific NW paper processing facility would be great. Toilet paper is the way to go. Who knows how to operate the machinery for production, packaging. Who handles marketing. If it isn’t legal in the US to grow industrial hemp can it be cost effective to import fiber from Canada for production in US? We need to crunch the numbers.

  32. Paul, I am interested in the paper mill. Could you please call me at 813-872-9999. Thanks, John

    • Hi John,
I will have someone call about the mill for sale.
Meanwhile, I am arranging a production from the largest hemp paper manufacturer in the world (based in Europe). If you want to import a container of 80-100% eco hemp paper to test the market then please contact me via http://www.thehempconsultant.com
      Hempfully,
      Paul

  33. what type of equipment is needed to produce oil and fiber for the making of lumber? Where can the equipment be purchased and the cost?

  34. I am a Hemp Consultant with 20 years of experience in the field of Industrial Hemp.

There is currently a hemp paper mill for sale. Situation in Canada. Capable of producing hemp paper today.

    Offers above 1 million Euro.

Let me know if you are interested.

If you are interested in setting up ANY HEMP BUSINESS then please add yourself to http://www.TheHempBuilder.com mailing list for a new course and book on this subject very soon…

  35. Be careful when planting the hemp in nor-cal. You don’t want to seed anybody’s medical. I don’t know the logisitics but i would check into it.

  36. Be careful when planting the hemp in nor-cal. You don’t want to seed anybody’s medical.

  37. I’ve heard that hemp is better for paper and it’s alot more enviromentaly friendly. 1 acre of hemp can make many times more paper than an acre of trees.

    • 1 acre of hemp can make more paper then 4 acres of trees. Also it can be recycled 7x more then paper made from trees

  38. vorrei avviare un’industria a base di prodotti fatti con la canapa, dalla plastica Bondomass alle fibre tessili ecc. ma mi servono info, chi puo’ darmele, sono Italiano.

  39. See many benefits for the present Spanish economy – seems excellent product for Andalucia.
Have land is 500 m above the Med. Got Google Earth? See Malaga area. Much available uncultivated land to east and west.

Would like to join in with you enthusiastic researchers. Have many retired colleagues with much land, endless sunshine, mild winter rain, and could partner younger fitter members of the community to cultivate hemp in all its dimensions.
Cloth, oils soaps and bio-fuel. The whole exciting range really. Anyone out there interested? If there are no legal euro or Spanish restrictions it could make a most agreeable ‘cottage industry.’ UK pensioners are often in receipt of only circa £390 eu a month,- 400eu. 600$ and cannot manage their lives on this income. 45% Have returned to UK with much sadness.
With few jobs available to this group and health questionable at times there is much opportunity for compatible partnership with younger people.
For more info (or your advice and comments) do contact me.

    • Christine, I am interested in this and I really like Malaga! In fact, we were thinking of moving there next year. I’m very into farming and sustainability. send me an e-mail to discuss more.

    • Christine, I agree, there is much sadness in the cities, and unhappy people and families. The Ringing Cedars of Russia by Vladimir Megre gives us a real solution, and yes, it involves planting hemp! Although not in the monocultural present-day way of doing it, but integrated into the natural landscape; a micro-farming/permaculture-style way of doing it, where everyone profits! If you’ve read the books and have been inspired to create a kins domain village please e-mail me. I live in Montana, where hemp is moving towards legalization also, the dawning of a new day!!

      • Becky, with everything going on in Montana right now(3/15/2011)…DEA/FBI raid local dispensaries in your neck of the woods! How close are you…really, from the dream of industrial hemp being made in America? I saw your comment to’Becky’ and I am definately interested in what you have to say. Contact me at solyanela@aol.com. Thank you.

      • hey becky like to get more inside on your village and how far along your state on legalizing it.

    • Hello,

I am currently residing in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. I would love to help you with making hemp. My partner, Ivan, and I are students at Mount Royal University. I will come to work on your farm and build industry there. Finding a hemp manufacturing facility seems to be a large roadblock for us, in Canada right now. The manufacturing industry must be progressed. You can contact me at Zcham942@mtroyal.ca

      • Ronald Coquis

I would love to get into this market. The paper market would be turned on its head if we could pull this off. Think of all the paper products that could be done. Packaging, writing, printing, etc. I am actually working on entering my MBA in Sustainable Business. I am able to research and work as needed.

I have been trying to convince the current administration in Maine that the failing paper mills could bring the rest of us out of this local recession by transforming our paper mills to make a new form of carbon fiber paper that could be used in place of products like plywood, partical board, sheathing, insulation. Other products such as plastic to steel, formed or pressed and the list just goes on and on…

      • I also Live in Maine. Have LOTS of people that would love to participate in anything to do with Hemp. Have been doing a lot of research on hemp for a school paper. I know lots of people with lots of land.

        • Hello,

I am currently looking to publish my first eBook on Hemp. It contains all of the information required to grow hemp organically and it will likely be on eReaders such as the “Kindle” quite shortly. Look for it soon. It is quite authoritative and very thorough. Within the confines of it’s brief 23 pages it still manages to provide all the information anyone would need, farmers and politicians alike, to legalize, then grow and harvest hemp for any purpose imaginable. It is titled “Hemp 101”.
          Cheers,

    • Want to start a hemp farm have 100’s of acres in Northern California. Shasta County and Tehama county. Is it conceivable, would like investors or even help to begin farming process. Will grow custom orders or specific. Just in gestation process. Greatest northstate weather along the river. I just know it would flourish. Seeking interested investors, people to supply or somone to help guide me in the farming process. Really open for suggestions. Want to comply with laws. All that.
