  1. I have the exact same questions. Did u ever get a response?

  2. Read: And tell me, is this yield and profit annual or per cycle? “More than 100 Canadian farmers are currently taking advantage of the market for hemp and are growing the crop (Agriculture & Agri-Food Canada). The provinces of Alberta, Manitoba and Saskatchewan are the leading producers of industrial hemp, having licensed the most acreage for hemp production. According to the Canadian Hemp Trade Alliance (CHTA), the trade association representing the Canadian hemp industry, Canadian farmers planted nearly 39,000 acres (15,720 hectares) of hemp in 2011. Canadian farmers are reporting net profits of $200 to $250 per acre”.

I just want to find out as to where you are with this project? I would like to discuss this with you if you are still in need of support for growing this plant or investor. I have experts working in the agriculture minister of Ethiopia who could help. I am also ”currently” working with an Italian company who manufactures fabric using hemp fibre, therefore we would like to invest on fibre hemp production. Please let me know.

Please send me your email or contact no. and we can discuss further.

  13. Sorry, i made an error on this link … http://versativagoodies.myforevergreen.org and join the hemp movement that is taking place GLOBALLY!

  14. 1000 acres of hemp in Ethiopia! What good news to hear that Ethiopia is trying to accept and capitalize on this powerful, natural, renewable resource! Let me know if there are any investment opportunities… maybe you can join ForeverGreen Inc. and Versativa as a supplier too… http://versativagoodies.versativa.org or sign up at http://versativagoodies.myforevergreen.com and see how we can collaborate by reaping the benefits of HEMP globally! Contact me!

  15. I am so excited to hear that Ethiopia will support the Hemp Renaissance! Ethiopia will reap the benefits of a powerful, natural, easily renewable, resource! Hemp can support a vast industry from foods, to textiles… http://versativagoodies.versativa.org shows how this plant can provide so many products! Starting with 1000 acres: I have read somewhere that 1 acre of hemp = 4 acres of trees, and 2 acres of cotton so that calculates to 4000 acres of trees or 2000 acres of cotton!WOW I can’t wait to see the impact that the hemp industry will have in Ethiopia!

  16. Hemp is a powerful, natural, renewable, resource that will support an entire industry! I have been researching hemp and am amazed by the versatility of this plant that grows with very little care but reap immense rewards! I am involved in the foods aspect of hemp… http://versativagoodies.versativa.org the hemp seed is considered a superfood because of its high percentage of easily digestible protein and dense nutritional value! Ethiopia will true will definitely impacted as hemp will compete with cotton. Hemp can be great for Ethiopia, and the entire world, because of its versatility as a natural and easily renewable resource!

  17. WOW! it is a precious idea, cultivating hemp and exporting it to USA.
    KEEP YOUR PROJECT UP.
I also have already started this project of finding Ethio native hemp and investigating its properties and extraction process, so that i need all your constructive ideas and suggestions.
    1. is there hemp cultivation in ethiopia?if so, where?

    • Interesting. To patent something that naturally grows you would need to change it in to something un-natural, man made/artificial. In this case it is more than likely it is just that. This is where GMO comes in. For textile purposes it’s fine but for human and animal consumption is where is disagree.

  19. Genet,
WOW! What wonderful good news! Ethiopia would be very competitive in the industrial hemp market. Hemp is not going any where but through the roof. I would like to invest in your project because this plant can be the healing of a nation. It is about time that research is producing outstanding results for several profitable markets that hemp will create or should i say has created but it needs to be sold to customers that are ready and willing to support hemp. The entire plant is useful, it is so versatile… I am just so excited to here Ethiopia will be involved in the Hemp Revolution as a supporter of the power that hemp is as a renewable resource. I want to support this project of yours very much, please keep me informed. I am trying to support hemp already here is my hemp opportunity… http://issacyesuf.versativa.org This is a brand new opportunity too. I am so stoked, I can’t wait to see the results of this project!

hi genet i really appreciate your project idea ,I’m a 5th year textile engineering student and i also have an interest on processing of hemp plant fiber for local market use so if there is anything new i got i will inform you and write me the progress of your project.

  21. Dear Genet

I am very interested in your hemp growing project, specially since it is in Ethiopia.
How is your project going? Did you already start planting and harvesting the first hemp?
Do you have customers who will buy the hemp stalks from you? Or are you going to process the stalks yourself?

Please let me know how you are progressing.

    Regards, Richard

  24. I forgot to mention that http://Finola.com/ is the leading Hemp Seed for human consumption.

Finola is the first true grain variety of hemp and was developed from early-blooming Russian stock and is used extensively in Finland, Canada and the USA.

The most comprehensive Hemp information website is http://www.innvista.com/health/foods/hemp/growhemp.htm with a more general link at http://www.innvista.com/health/foods/hemp/default.htm.

The African people deserve the best Hemp in the world.

  25. Hemp is classified as an oilseed depending on its variety and intended use. Various varieties are more suitable for fiber. The premiere Hemp Oil Seed is Finola that is grown in Finland and Canada.

Although there are other varieties, Finola yields a superior seed for human consumption.
