  4. For someone wanting to grow hemp for the first time, what advice would you give? We are in Oregon and they have just made it much easier to grow hemp. We would like to purchase land and grow this beautiful plant, but would like to avoid as many pitfalls as we can. Any advice would be greatly received.

  5. I have some hemp research that I conducted for Appalachia. Here is the link-http://mds.marshall.edu/etd/964/

  6. We are in the second year of growing hemp in Colorado.
What we need are Processors, companies that will turn the raw material into finished products.
Those Processors need to be located in Colorado.
Can you help in making contact with interested companies/individuals?

    • sure i know most of the machinery producers. i’m the guy that connected Hemp Inc to that machinery they purchased that was just about to be shipped off to China…

Growing Hemp without end buyers is much of the problem right now.
In no other agricultural situations do people grow a plant without reason and with Industrial Hemp, processing comes first as it would be established in areas where there are industries or enough small businesses to support the agricultural activities.
Its like growing corn in Arizona…
Crops are generally grown under contract through the purchaser, by the processor, to the farmer. Processor & Farmer work together on planting & harvesting to supply purchaser with proper raw material.
You cannot just grow any type of Hemp and throw it through any processing or for that matter, harvest in any ol’ way…

From my position in the marketplace i say to people there is no $ to be made from Hemp at this time. Take the figures i propose above and tell me where Hemp fits in.

Colorado has very few “Industries” to support the growth of Hemp.
Serious People with serious Abilities are always invited to reach out 213 572 7351 and also if you need some answers in general feel free.

And when you really wanna grow some solutions for Industry, there is Kenaf to do all the wonderful things Hemp would, but legally and with all the same nuances that must be undertaken with Hemp

if i can answer, you got me. Unlike those “consultants” that will want $60-$100/hour to blow smoke up your butt

  7. Where is some companies to purchase industrial hemp seeds from?

  8. Greetings!
Our company would be happy to offer you our experience of hemp technical construction as for buildings’ construction.
Our experience is based on the developing of these technologies and direct practical usage of them in the construction of residential buildings in Ukraine. Since 2005 we have built more than 50 000 ft of residential buildings for which were being used
    1 000 tons of hemp.
Briefly saying about the advantages of such technologies if you are not well informed about them:
High energetic efficiency of the houses (the energy consumption of not more than 2,5W)
    Absolute non-incendiveness of such houses
High speed of construction (one house in three months)
The cost is not higher than the cost of traditional Canadian technologies
    100% of ecologic
High sustainability and service life of the houses

The are a lot of other advantages left.
We are informed that Canada is the largest producer of hemp all over the world, and hemp stalk in Canada is massively used so far, and we can offer you to use it for the construction.
We will be thankful if you answer us and , if you are not interested , then , please, tell us where or who we can refer to.

  9. It is now legal to grow industrial hemp in TN. How do I find the information I would need to figure out if this would be profitable for our small farm?

    • I will say up front it will prolly not be profitable. Look hard at the Law.
IF you can pay all the fees and still grow a little bit of cbd or edible seed hemp, you will not make much $ due to all the other things you would need to do like packaging, marketing and permits for the various other things associated like food reseller….
Feel Free to call 213 572 7351 to discuss.
I am not a “consultant” and will not ask for $

  10. In 2011, Kevin McKiernan of Medicinal Genomics spent approximately $400,000.00 out of pocket Genetically Map both Cannabis and Hemp. The results show that neither Cannabis, nor Hemp have THC in their bio-synthtic pathway.

Is there a reason that NAIHC is not actively promoting this Genetic Fact, and pursuing a REPEAL of PROHIBITION of these two harmless THC-free plants?

  11. I am an attorney and am looking for a definitive answer as to whether selling CBD oil made from industrial hemp grown outside the U.S. is legal and the currrent status of the law.

    • Dr Bronners won the Lawsuit against the DEA finally i think in 2001.
      Basically,
Any part of the Hemp Plant that does not contain over the Legal limit of thc, and cannot grow in the U.S., is Legal to import, sell, and be in possession of in the U.S.

I think cbd products fall under that regulation

  12. I am a California farmer…if I successfully harvest a (+40 acre) hemp crop what is current Canadian market price for fiber, and seeds?

    • All this is directly from Canada, so you still must work out many other cost factors…

Bales of Hemp at the Farm $30-$75/ton
      Processing Stalks can cost $100-$400/ton
      Raw Fibers from Processing $150-$400/ton

      Seeds, huge variables there, $3-$15/lb
*all seed must be unable to regrow, or strictly edible unless you are growing under Government Permission

  13. Now that industrial hemp farming is legal here in Colorado, seems we don’t have the harvesters (machines) and processors to use it. Any way around this?
