I hope this letter can reach the correct party. I am trying to add your website as a source for the fact that the Constitution was drafted on Hemp paper to http://www.wikepedia.org and am receiving feedback from my peers saying that your website doesn’t cite the source for the “claim”. Could you help me locate the source of the fact that “George Washington and Thomas Jefferson both grew hemp. Ben Franklin owned a mill that made hemp paper. Jefferson drafted the Declaration of Independence on hemp paper.” If so it would be much appreciated? Thanks, Jared

Could any of you please provide a legitimate citation for these facts? I would greatly appreciate it.
Actually they both were drafted on Hemp paper.
75 to 90 percent of all paper back then was made of Hemp fiber.
I believe that the document that your are refering to that was drafted on Hemp paper was the decleration of independence.
Thomas Jefferson actually didn’t even write the US Constitution. He was in France at the time it was written and had little direct influence on the drafting of the document.
According to the seemingly reliable website http://www.usconsitution.net, the US Consitution was written on parchment paper.
